Rimac, the company known for producing the incredibly fast Nevera EV, has now unveiled an even more powerful version called the Nevera R. This new electric supercar boasts impressive performance upgrades compared to its predecessor, including faster acceleration, more horsepower, better aerodynamics, increased downforce, and improved grip.
The Nevera R is said to be capable of accelerating from 0 to 60mph in just 1.74 seconds, making it about a tenth of a second quicker than the original Nevera. With an impressive 2,107 horsepower, the Nevera R generates about 200 more horsepower than the previous model. Additionally, Rimac claims that the Nevera R has better aerodynamics, increased downforce, and improved grip, resulting in a significant 3.8-second improvement in its lap time on the Nardo Ring.
Similar to the regular Nevera, the Nevera R requires “manufacturer oversight” to reach its top speed of 256mph. Without this oversight, the car is limited to 217mph. This restriction ensures safety and control at such high speeds, providing peace of mind to drivers pushing the limits of the Nevera R’s performance capabilities.
Rimac estimates that the Nevera R’s 108kWh battery will offer approximately 250 miles of range under the European WLTP cycle, although this figure has not yet been officially certified. Despite the impressive power and speed of the Nevera R, its battery range suggests that it is not only a high-performance supercar but also a practical option for daily driving and longer trips.
While the Nevera R is undoubtedly an exciting addition to Rimac’s lineup of electric supercars, the company’s focus on innovation extends beyond consumer vehicles. Rimac’s development of Croatian robotaxis indicates a broader vision for the future of transportation, offering a glimpse into the potential evolution of electric and autonomous vehicles.
Rimac’s Nevera R represents a significant leap forward in electric supercar technology, combining unparalleled speed, power, and aerodynamics in a single vehicle. With its impressive performance enhancements and futuristic design, the Nevera R sets a new standard for electric vehicles in the automotive industry.
